Behind Fractal Theory Productions is Michael Hurd, a Homer-based DJ with more than 13 years behind the decks and a well-earned reputation as one of Alaska’s most respected names in electronic music. In 2018 he was named “Best DJ” by the Anchorage Daily News. He has played many of the state’s most beloved festivals, including Salmonfest, the Seward Music & Arts Festival, Spectrum, and Sacred Acre, and has shared stages with national touring acts. Hundreds of club, bar, and festival sets have taught him to read a room. He builds a dance floor gradually and keeps it full from the first song to the last. For weddings, Fractal Theory Productions brings full professional sound, wireless microphones, and polished MC service, so the ceremony, toasts, and reception flow smoothly. Their premier package adds venue uplighting, dance floor lighting, and sound for the rehearsal. Based on the Kenai Peninsula and willing to travel anywhere in Alaska, Fractal Theory Productions is a strong choice for couples who want festival-level energy at a Kachemak Bay celebration.

Best DJ Experience

“We had a small wedding, only 65 guests, and a majority of those were our closest friends. The music/DJing for our reception was the absolute BEST! We had too much fun and all of our friends said how great the music was, we were dancing the entire night, never a dull song or moment! The energy was amazing and Michael is great at reading a crowd and knowing how to keep everyone interested and moving! He also did a fantastic job with mics for our ceremony and reception and the music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. Was very easy to work with and even got out on the dance floor with us! Wished we could have had him at our Happily Ever After parties back home as well!”
